The Institute of Mechanics is multidisciplinary for fundamental and applied research. There is solves complex problems coming from industry and society. Scientists work in the field of mechatronics, biomechanics, physicochemical mechanics, fluid mechanics, mathematical modeling and numerical simulations, etc.

IICT carries out fundamental and applied research in the field of computer science, information and communication technologies, the development of innovative interdisciplinary applications of these technologies and other.

The main scientific and scientific applied directions in the laboratory are in the field of conversion and use of solar energy, as well as other renewable energy sources. Thin-film photoelectric materials based on Si, transparent conductive layers ZnO and etc., suitable for solar energy conversion are studied. Thin-film polymers and perovskite structures for photovoltaic and optoelectronic applications are being developed.

The partner in the project is the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. It’s the oldest faculty at TU-Sofia and trains students in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechatronics Systems and Engineering Design.

Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” is the first Bulgarian higher school. The partner of the project is the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (FMI), which provides its students with modern training in the professional fields of mathematics, informatics, computer science and pedagogy.

The university is the only state university in Southeastern Bulgaria. The partner of the project is Faculty of Technical Sciences, which trains specialists in water technology, materials technology, organic and inorganic technologies, biotechnology, computer technology etc.

The university is a private specialized university in the field of finance, insurance, management and marketing. It’s an important partner for the successful marketing of the scientific results that will be generated in the Center.
