- Conducting experimental scientific and applied research in micro and nanomechanics of materials and surfaces, with emphasis on new properties of elements, details and systems in mechatronics.
- Research and application of nanotechnological methods and new nanomaterials to improve the triboengineering properties of materials, with application in mechatronics.
- Fundamental research on the enhancing effects of nanoparticles in composite materials.

The laboratory is equipped with robots for research and experimental activities in the field of industrial robotics and integration of industrial universal robots in high-tech mechatronic systems.

Expected results of the research activity:
*Production of basic elements, details, units and equipment, installed as part of a mechatronic unit or independently constituting such a unit;
*Mechanical engineering and instrument making, incl. parts, components and systems, with an emphasis on transport and energy;
*Engineering, reengineering and extension of the life cycle of industrial machines, appliances and systems;
*Automated and software-assisted control systems with application in production;
